It all began with a phone call from the bride’s father. He used to be involved in film production in Hong Kong, and has an eye for quality wedding cinematography. As such, when he contacted UProductions to express interest in having us film Fan and Jeff’s wedding, we were even more honoured than usual.
Fan and Jeff’s wedding took place on a perfect June day, marked by sunny skies and warm weather. The couple exchanged vows at St. Paul’s Basilica Parish, in downtown Toronto. This touching ceremony was followed by a photo shoot in the Distillery District, one of the city’s more popular destinations for wedding photography and videography.
That evening, after a traditional tea ceremony, Fan and Jeff had another photo shoot, which took us to the top floor of the King Edward Hotel. Though this abandoned room is now marred by peeling paint and exposed wires, one cannot help but imagine how grand it must have been in a former era, with its gorgeous mouldings and high ceilings. This room set the stage for some enchanting footage of Fan and Jeff. Seeing as the room is slated to be renovated in the very near future, they may be the last couple to use this room as a backdrop for their wedding cinematography.
UProductions had a wonderful time spending the day with Fan, Jeff, and their family and friends. We hope you enjoy viewing this same-day edit as much as we enjoyed creating it. We think that the upbeat song the couple chose makes this video particularly fun to watch.
